Early Signs of Cataract
Published 20 Jan 2026 · Reviewed by the clinical team, Sentra Clinic & Hospital
Cataract is a gradual clouding of the eye's natural lens. Early signs include hazy or filmy vision, increasing glare from headlights, halos around lights, faded colours and frequent changes in spectacle power.
There is no proven drop or exercise that reverses cataract. In early stages, updated glasses and better lighting help; when clouding interferes with daily life, micro-incision cataract surgery replaces the lens.
If you notice these changes, a structured evaluation will confirm the cause and help you plan timing — there is usually no rush, and no need to wait until vision is very poor either.
